Brynn Winters is the author of the contemporary women’s fiction novel, Principal Hopes. This is Book One in her new Sprucedale Teachers series.

This series centers on the drama of teachers’ lives. Teachers are superhumans, exceeding high standards of professionalism every day. But they’re people, too, with personal lives and worries outside the classroom, and this is where Brynn focuses her series.

Brynn's teaching aspirations began as a child, playing school in the basement at her best friend's house. She loved when it was her turn to be the teacher and grumbled when she was the student—especially if math was involved.

Being the daughter of teachers who became a teacher, Brynn loves learning, but as a student, she found the traditional classroom challenging. Her experiences shaped her fondness for the outliers: the misunderstood, the awkward, the troublemakers, the shy, always rooting for the underdog; a theme often present in her writing.

Brynn loves emotional, wring-your-guts-out, tension-filled stories that come to a satisfying conclusion. Stories that show all the messy and beautiful parts of living interconnected with other wonderfully complicated beings. Where there is darkness, there can also be light. Brynn's credo: life is never without struggle, but there is hope—always hope—and sometimes, even a happy ending.
